For those that follow the news concerning illegal
immigration enforcement there seems to be no penalties assessed to the
employers of the illegal aliens captured. Furthermore the judicial system is
more concerned on the illegal immigrant’s comfort and non-existent rights than
prosecuting them for violating our laws.
This past week illegal aliens were caught in Georgia
and other locations. In the story documenting these captures it was stated that
no charges were files against the employers.
Now one might wonder with the breach of security at a
military installation by contractors there might be some hell to pay but since
the offense included illegal aliens then there must be some special
dispensation for these cases. Getting a speeding ticket or traffic infraction would
at one time get you directly before the provost marshal but I guess times have
changed. We must be more in touch with our emotions and beware of anything that
might be construed as an international incident with the neighbor to the south
even if it is a breach of security at a military installation.
I find it dubious at best with all of the publicity
concerning the raids at the Swift Meat packing facilities that this employer
didn’t know they were employing illegal aliens. The week before the Dallas
Morning news ran an article about Cactus Texas
and the illegal immigrant population of that town whose primary employer was
the meat packing facility. Interviews with the local Law enforcement also
revealed that they knew the extent of the population that was employed at Swift
and how many of those employees were residents of Cactus Texas.
Here is another example of hiding in plain sight and the violation of numerous
laws condoned or at least ignored by law enforcement.
It has been stated the best way to stop illegal immigration
is to dry up the incentive for them to come and yet Chertoff and Meyers thump
their chests and cackle like Punch and Judy on these miniscule raids never
touching the employers. “There might be
more to the puppet metaphor than meets the eye here.” If one were to put
into perspective what congress allocates funding to ICE, DHS and the judiciary for
the year compared to the amount of illegal aliens captured and deported we
would scream at the cost per immigrant apprehended. To make matters more egregious
deportees play Schwarzenegger exiting our country saying, “I’ll be Back!”
I recently found this web site that posts excerpts from the Section 8
USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii) ;Federal immigration and
Nationality Act. It is very interesting and everyone should take a look. It can
be seen at
http://www.mnforsustain.org/immigration_hiring_law_excerpts_from_us_code.htm
The next time someone says we need comprehensive
immigration refer them to this page and say, “let’s try enforcing these laws
first before we spend inordinate sums on creating new ones!” The next time some
farmer cries there are no one to pick our crops ask them if they complied with
the government in securing legal immigrant labor under the rules and
regulations that exist instead of screaming about illegal immigrants.
I’m still waiting for someone to prosecute some
employers after the arrests, Aren’t you?
