Testing the waters?

There are many situations that can be associated with the metaphor, “Testing the Waters?” An individual that hasn’t announced his candidacy measures the public’s response to the hint that he/she is considering a run at the desired office. An executive leaks a new corporate policy to see how much the employees grumble or a politician takes a stand and defies the base to test an unpopular stance against proposed legislation. Wednesdays vote on the DREAM act revealed one of these individuals and sadly it was one of our senators from Texas.

Kay Bailey Hutchison sided with Durbin the Dick and voted for cloture on the Dream act. This was a very dangerous undertaking for those that think amnesty for illegal immigrants is the wrong thing to do. In our Senate a super majority vote of 60 would have ended all debate and killed the filibuster against the dream act where then a simple majority would have passed the bill from the senate. This piece of feces was loaded with amnesty that would have cost the citizens of this nation billions and increased the illegal immigrant population even more. One would expect this brainless mindset from the spineless liberal left but from a republican senator in a border state that suffers more from the effects of illegal immigration than most of the states combined is a blatant betrayal of the constituent base that put her in office.

Hutchison release a statement after the vote stating, “I support the goal of encouraging college education for children whose parents brought them into America illegally, but it is unfair to reward the children of undocumented workers and favor them over the children of legal residents. Today I voted to bring this issue to the floor of the Senate for debate, with the commitment that there is still the opportunity to change the Durbin bill and gain bipartisan consensus. Though the motion to proceed failed, I will continue to work for fair and comprehensive border security and immigration reform.”

Here is the person that believes assurances from an individual that advocates giving illegal aliens social security for the illegal wages they earned from identity theft or forgery, open borders and amnesty while calling those that disagree with his stance bigots. He represents the party that wants to give drivers licenses to illegal aliens and terrorists.

It is apparent that Kay Bailey Hutchison is looking out for Kay Bailey Hutchison and not the citizens of Texas or the citizens of the United States. We owe nothing to the spawn of an illegal alien and for those bleeding hearts that think otherwise are doing so on your dime; not theirs! Hutchinson’s voting record on immigration related issues can be found at http://grades.betterimmigration.com/testgrades.php3?District=TX&VIPID=763 . Check it out and you’ll see her mediocre representation for her constituents.

It is rumored that this is the last term for Hutchison and she has aspirations for the Texas Governors mansion after retiring from the senate. Here is one of those constituents that will remind her and those thinking of voting for her the betrayal she perpetrated in the senate by her vote for cloture.
