Today on Election Day we have mostly Texas
constitutional amendments to consider. In some precincts there may be a representative
to replace or a local issue to address. The proposition that intrigues me the most
is Proposition 11.
It states: "The constitutional amendment to require
that a record vote be taken by a house of the legislature on final passage of
any bill, other than certain local bills, of a resolution proposing or
ratifying a constitutional amendment, or of any other non-ceremonial
resolution, and to provide for public access on the Internet to those record
votes."
Have you ever wondered after the fact what MORON
enacted this legislation? Well here is your chance to find out. It is sickening
when you find out your were sold down the river by some special interest group but
it even more frustrating when you can’t find out who did it on their behalf. They
are able to do this in anomynity by a voice vote or a signification of hands.
It gets the job done for passing the bill but shields the legislator from his
or her constituent’s wrath. If this proposition passes then that would be no
more.
Seeing the citizen’s response to the Senate’s attempt at Amnesty
and the DREAM act it is apparent that more and more are fed up with the inaction
of their elected representatives and are holding them accountable. This proposition
makes it that much easier to hold our State elected representatives accountable. Take
the time to vote today because this one is important.
